Welcome!
The Freedom Trail Band is an amateur concert and marching band serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities of the greater Boston area. Our most visible performances are as a marching band at gay pride parades throughout New England. In the fall, winter, and early spring, we perform for the public and for local community groups.
The band has two objectives, both of great importance. As a band, we are a musical organization. In that capacity, we seek to play interesting music both for ourselves and for our audiences. As a gay community organization, we seek to support that community and to help break down barriers between the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the larger community. Because adult bands are so much a part of mainstream American culture, and because we are visible as a gay organization, we reinforce the point that all LGBTQ individuals should participate fully in American life and culture.
